- The PDF report is made on your phone.
- Apple and Superwall handle purchases.
- If you open the support chat in the app, Crisp runs it.
- A small server of ours gets anonymous events, so we can see how the app is used and fix errors.
- You can erase everything on your phone in Settings.
Who is responsible
Yassine Rajallah, Berlin, Germany. You can write to support@hvacloadcalculator.app. Under the GDPR, this is the controller of the data described here.
What stays on your phone
The app keeps your saved jobs, the client details you type, your company details and your logo on your phone. We do not send them to our servers and we do not keep copies. You do not need an account. The PDF report is made on your phone. You choose where to send it.
To erase all of this, open Settings in the app and tap "Erase everything on this phone". If you delete the app, the data on the phone goes with it.
Your location
If you tap "Use my location", the app reads your position on the phone and picks the nearest weather station from a list that is inside the app. The position is not sent anywhere. You can skip this and enter a ZIP code or search a town instead.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold through Apple. Apple takes the payment. We never see your card or your Apple ID. We also use Superwall, a subscription service. Superwall receives the app's device id and your purchase status. It uses them to show the right screen and to know whether your subscription is active. Apple and Superwall have their own privacy policies.
Support chat
"Chat with support" in the app Settings opens a chat run by Crisp, our support chat provider. Crisp gets what you type in the chat, the name "HVAC Load app" (so we know which app you write from), and the app's random device id, which keeps the same conversation when you open the chat again. If you give an email address in the chat, Crisp gets that too. Your jobs and company details are not sent. Crisp has its own privacy policy.
Anonymous app events
The app sends small anonymous events to a notification server. This lets us see how the app is used and which errors happen. An event can include:
- an install id (a random code for this install, not your name)
- the app version
- the phone model and iOS version
- the language
- which screens were opened
- errors
No names, addresses, phone numbers or emails from your jobs are sent. If you choose to send feedback from the app, the server also gets the text you wrote.
We keep these events only as long as we need them to understand how the app is used and to fix problems.
This website
The calculators on this website run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us. This website has no ads. Like most websites, our web host may keep standard server logs, such as the time of a visit and an IP address.
If you email us, we get your email address and your message. We use them to answer you.
Why we may use your data
We handle purchase status so you get what you paid for. We handle anonymous events because we have a real interest in keeping the app working and making it better. We handle feedback and emails to answer you. If we ever rely on your consent, you can take it back at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can:
- ask what data we have about you
- ask us to fix it
- ask us to erase it
- ask us to limit how we use it
- object to how we use it
- ask for a copy you can move to another service
- complain to a data protection authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information
Because the events are anonymous, we usually cannot tell which ones are yours. Write to support@hvacloadcalculator.app to use any of these rights, and we will help as far as we can.
Children
The app is for people who work with heating and cooling, and for home owners. It is not meant for children.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
